FAQs
Common questions to help you decide if we're the right fit for you.
We work with attorneys and law firms, trustees and fiduciaries, personal representatives and executors, and financial and professional advisors. We also help individuals facing complicated financial records that need to be organized, reconciled, or reconstructed. If there’s a financial puzzle to solve, there’s a good chance we’ll enjoy digging into it.
Absolutely. Some of the projects we enjoy most involve years of financial activity that needs to be pieced together. We can work through bank and investment statements, transactions, distributions, transfers, expenses, and other supporting records to organize the activity and build a clear financial picture. Whether the records are neatly organized or need some detective work, we’re happy to dig in.
That doesn’t automatically stop the project. Missing or incomplete records are often part of the puzzle. We can work with the information available, identify what’s missing, trace activity between accounts, and help determine what additional records may be needed. Sometimes the answer is right there in the financial trail—it just takes a little digging to find it.
Yes. Investment activity is often an important part of fiduciary and estate accounting. We can work through brokerage statements, purchases and sales, income, distributions, transfers, and investment holdings to help bring the financial activity together with the rest of the accounting. We also work with ending investment values as part of preparing a clear picture of the assets and activity for the accounting period.
It depends on the project, and you don’t need to have everything perfectly organized before reaching out. We’ll start by learning what you’re working through and what records are available. Depending on the matter, that may include bank and brokerage statements, prior accountings, transaction histories, asset information, receipts and disbursements, or other supporting financial records. From there, we can identify what else may be needed.
Yes. We work remotely with clients across the country. Financial records can be shared securely, and meetings and project communication can be handled virtually, so you don’t need to be located nearby to work with us. Whether you’re an attorney, fiduciary, trustee, personal representative, or professional advisor, location doesn’t have to get in the way of getting the accounting support you need.
Pricing is based on the scope and complexity of the project. Factors such as the number of accounts, length of the accounting period, volume of activity, investment transactions, condition of the records, and amount of research or reconstruction needed can all affect the work involved. After we learn more about your project, we’ll provide a clear scope and pricing before work begins.
The initial consultation is a chance for us to understand what you’re working through. We’ll talk about the financial matter, what records are available, the time period involved, and what you ultimately need from the accounting. You don’t need to have everything figured out before the call. Bring the situation as it is, and we’ll help determine the next step.
We take the confidentiality and security of your financial information seriously. We use reputable technology and service providers to support the secure handling of client information and take reasonable measures to protect the records entrusted to us. We also limit the information we request and share to what is appropriate for the work being performed.
